Berkeley’s One IT initiative sought to unify the many distributed IT groups on campus. We worked with the leadership to develop an exercise which would bring together people from different backgrounds in a problem-solving context, while celebrating the beautiful Berkeley campus. We developed a treasure hunt which encouraged participants to break away from their cynicism, and work together in an appreciative and observational mode. Over 100 participants walked and ran through the campus, building new relationships and learning new things about Berkeley and about each other.
